I want to run Windows Vista on it so I think a minimum of 1024 MB will do the work. But what about the processor ? Which one is the best and what are the differences between them ( Celeron, CoreDuo, Core2Duo, Sempron, Turion).
And when it comes to the producer what should I look for (ACER, ASUS, DELL, FUJITSU, HP, SONY, TOSHIBA ) ?
Beside a dedicated video card, a dvd-rw and network card what other devices should I look for ?

have DVD Recorder/VCR, samsung DVD-VR375- manual list several recordable discs, DVD-RAM/+/-/RW/-R, DVD-RW/-R, DVD-R, DVD+R…what is difference of DVD-R and DVD+R?? Goal is to transfer fam Video to DVD, using Samsun unit, and edit on computer(s) later-thanks for any clarification
