i changed the bios to have the cd/dvd as the main drive/load up and it still doesnt work, and takes me to the error message. I’m not sure what to do, to allow the system recovery to have a chance to work its magic.

Toshiba will no longer manufacture HD-DVD players. Does that also mean that no more new movies will be released on HD-DVD in the future?

Someone fill me in. What’s the latest news? Will any new movies be released on HD-DVD in the future?

The problem is that I have a toshiba with this cd-rom: matshita dvd-ram uj-8415 BUT if I want to burn something its not working? Does anybody have an idea why? And what to do??? Thanks a lot!!!

I have another regarding the issue: When I tried to burn it with the CDBunurXP pro3 I got this message:
Writing Error:(3) Error occurred writing data to disc. The drive could not track properly (1004). Error Sense Data: SENSE KEY: 4 ASC:9 ASCQ:1

I have toshiba laptop model A55-s306, my laptop dvd reader not reading a specific DVD. Dvd player is reading that DVD but lapyop is not reading that dvd. I want to copy that dvd to my system.
Can you please help me how to do this.

I have a Toshiba Laptop, A205-S5825 model.

My dvd drive disappeared from My Computer and it won’t show up. So I deleted the upper and lower filters on the registry in the right folder. I did everything right.. This was instructed by customer support to do this. Restarted the computer and it was there. Inserted a movie and it played fine. Then I had to restart my computer for something else. When it opened up, it was gone again.

My DVD drive will not even open for me to test anything out. The drive has a yellow light blinking right next to it. I just had it working before. The upper and lower filters are already deleted. I don’t know what else to do.

PLEASE, HELP!! Any advice would be much appreciated. THank you!!

It is not showing up in Device Manager. The DVD is brand new. No scratches at all. Like I said, deleted the filters blocking the DVD so what’s going on?
Also, THIS IS WINDOWS VISTA. Not XP, so any help with Vista would be great. If anyone knows Vista, that’d be teriffic.

Just finished connecting my new HDMI supporting Denon Receiver. Cable works just fine using HDMI connection but the DVD shows nothing on HDMI. I changed HDMI cable and change slots but nothing helped. Any ideas? I see no picture at all on my TV when DVD is on.

Since Toshiba has failed in the HD-DVD market and I was dumb enough to buy a player. I figured companies would like to get rid of their stock. So… does anyone know of any big sale at places such as Best Buy, Circuit City, etc… or even online sites?

I want to run Windows Vista on it so I think a minimum of 1024 MB will do the work. But what about the processor ? Which one is the best and what are the differences between them ( Celeron, CoreDuo, Core2Duo, Sempron, Turion).
And when it comes to the producer what should I look for (ACER, ASUS, DELL, FUJITSU, HP, SONY, TOSHIBA ) ?
Beside a dedicated video card, a dvd-rw and network card what other devices should I look for ?

My laptop crashed… again (not as bad as last time, it just won’t load the desktop), but we’ve gotten a new hard drive which should fix everything, but once again we can’t seem to install windows on it; it won’t format, we think it’s likely the dvd drive that we’re installing xp off of, since it’s been crap from the beginning (i always use an external one instead). my dad thinks we could probably swap it with the one of my moms, also a toshiba sattellite (ecept this one works). However it looks pretty difficult as we’d be taking the whole thing apart.

any suggestions?

Im seriously considering buying a Panasonic SC-PT750 Home theater system which has included an up converting dvd player. The problem is i have a Toshiba 46h83 rear projection hd tv that has a dvi connector along with all the other standard connections but not a hdmi.
Is there a way to hook up the panasonic’s hdmi with an adapter to my tv? thx
