I only have 1 dvd burner on my laptop and need to make a copy of a disk. can I do it by copying it to my hard drive then burning to a blank dvd, and if so how, or is there something else I can do to make a copy

I have a Sony HD camcorder, and have a lot of HD video on various hard drives, but I’d like to burn some to blu-ray disks. I just bought a lite-on blu-ray burner, and was able to burn jpg’s to a blu-ray disk from iPhoto, so I know that works, but can’t figure out how to get true HD content onto a DVD. I’m using an Intel core 2 duo mac mini, and have iMovie 6 and iDVD 6.

iv used my rw before but not for a while,while trying to make room on my hard drive.
attempting to back up files on dvd my rw keeps spitting out discs saying illegal disc error.
any ideas ,it worked before .
do you think nero could be the cause?

Will that ram work for this laptop? If it does, Its much cheaper than adding the ram into your laptop purchsae. Thank you, all help is greatly appreciated.

Not something like DVDclone or shrink but an actual program that will burn video from the hard drive to a dvd. I have a number of videos on my hard drive that I no longer have the dvds to because of an accident while moving. I want to put them back on dvd. I don’t mean slide shows etc but movies. I had Nero but they are so cheap they put a demo within the purchased software that has run out and won’t let me burn any longer if its mpeg. How cheap! Please don’t just give the same old software that has nothing to do with what I want to do just to get points.

when i try to restart my other computer it goes to the first dvd drive, and will not go past that one to the other and then to the hard drive for start up…i have checked all components and they appear to be fine.
