I cannot get the HD tv signal to work through the DVD recorder. The error message “does not support HDCP” appears or HDMI output is blocked. Is there a way to remedy this

I haven’t played a movie on WMP in a while now and now I put a DVD in and it reads the DVD because in the list frame on the right side it lists the scenes and stuff but this message comes up:

Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.

I don’t know what the hell that even means….what video card. Does that mean I have to go to Best Buy and buy some $50+ computer piece
Okay I’m trying jimmy.eastman’s way and I have a Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family driver and this is so dumb.

I’m downloading it and it’s in that compressed zip file way which I have NEVER been able to work. I open the folder and there are like 10 different icons.

I don’t want to download another DVD player because I’ve tried that before and it didn’t work and all it did was clog up more space on my computer and make it move slower

I don’t know what to do. I just WANT WMP to play my DVDs because my DVD player in my TV…..works sometimes and doesn’t other times and right now it’s not working and I want to watch my movies.

I installed a DVD drive into my computer and it is the only thing on the wire. I found out that it’s still set as slave. Should I change it to master? I might add a hard drive onto the same cable and naturally the hard drive would be set as master and the dvd drive as slave, and it would be nice if I could just keep it as a slave instead of having to change it again.

i know i cant play my dvds and they are not copys.i downloaded a decoder.still nothing.
i dont understand what you mean about a dvd cable,

My laptop crashed… again (not as bad as last time, it just won’t load the desktop), but we’ve gotten a new hard drive which should fix everything, but once again we can’t seem to install windows on it; it won’t format, we think it’s likely the dvd drive that we’re installing xp off of, since it’s been crap from the beginning (i always use an external one instead). my dad thinks we could probably swap it with the one of my moms, also a toshiba sattellite (ecept this one works). However it looks pretty difficult as we’d be taking the whole thing apart.

any suggestions?

I only have 1 dvd burner on my laptop and need to make a copy of a disk. can I do it by copying it to my hard drive then burning to a blank dvd, and if so how, or is there something else I can do to make a copy

I have 2 CD rom drive on my computer E:\ and D:\. BOTH ARE ONLY CD. I try to copy a .vob video file or an mpeg or something to a CD-RW with my CD non DVD drive. My DVD player cant read it!? Do I need a DVD RW and a DVD computer drive!? Cause i got both I just want to know if you need em! Thanks alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
