My DVD burner is messed up and I need help?

I have an Acer aspire 5100-3357 Notebook. My DVD drive is a matshita DVD-ram UJ-850S. I recenlty switched from vista to XP.

Before I switched to XP, my DVD burner worked fine.

Now, my DVD burner only reads DVD’s and burns CD

my dvd drive on my laptop is not working?

I’ve tried to update the driver, uninstall and reinstall the driver and I’ve used a disk cleaning disk. Any ideas on whats wrong? A yellow circle with a black exlimation mark is beside the drives name on device manager.

How do I rip a DVD movie so that it becomes only a 700MB file but has good quality?

What’s the bitrate etc I should put? I always rip DVD movies but the quality can’t match anything that I downloaded from torrent sites which are usually just 700MB per file. When I rip the size is usually almost 1GB.

How do you record your recorded telly on to DVD discs ?

Ok This night soud very confusing but I’ll Try to explain myself the best I can .

I have Windows media player on my computer and I can watch TV on it .

I can also record TV on it so is there a way possible to put my recorded TV programmes on a DVD disg thingy and then just watch my programmes on a DVD player .

I don’t blame you if you have no idea what Im talking ablout because I don’t really know what Im talking about .

Please answer if you can !

nero dvd burning software?

i have just bought a sony dvd burner that came with nero 8 software but when i try to burn a dvd it says that i need to buy nero 9. does that sound right or is there something else i can do to be able to burn dvd’s

I have a Samsung DVD Player as well as a Samsung TV, connected to a Yamaha 6050 using HDMI connections?

The problem is when I try to play MP3s on the DVD player the TV “auto-magically’ comes on and displays the folder listing and track names on the DVD. While that’s nice, if I turn the TV off it also shuts off the DVD Player… ***??? I would like yo be able to play MP3s without the monitor having to be on. Anyone have any suggestions?

Can you play an HD DVD in a regular DVD player?

My dad asked me for a few DVDs for Xmas, but he said he wants HD. He doesn’t have a HD TV or an HD DVD player. He is planning on upgrading everything sometime in the near future, and is just planning ahead. So- will he be able to watch the DVD in his regular DVD player for now?
