I don’t think that imovies has the right software to do this. I remember doing this years ago on a pc with this thing that had a spot for rca wires and then ran into a usb port… is that all I need?

I have decided to replace my seperate DVD player, and seperate VCR with a combo unit.
I dont use my VCR much, but it would be nice to be able to copy my tapes over to DVD, even the tapes that are originals, and not just the ones that I recorded off of HBO.
I think I want a DVD recorder that is capable of using + and - RW discs, and if it can use dual layer (DL), that would be a bonus but not neccesary.
I have a tivo DVR built into my satellite receiver and so I would like to dump some of my saved stuff from the tivo unit down to the DVD recoder.
I have done some research on CNET.com and on BestBuy.com. Nothing really jumps out as a clear winner.
I am prepared to spend between 200 and 250.
I have coax audio input available since the CD player I am taking out of service is using that.

i had this great dvd to ipod converter but my cp crashed and i don’t remember the name of it but i’m going to decribe it and if anyone knows what it is please tell me, it is a free trial and you can convert the whole movie in one piece and the only downside is that is has a watermark across the middle that says evaluation copy that’s kinda see through

I just got a panasonic vdr d210 video camera that takes dvds. It saves them in dvd format (.vob) and i want to convert them to ntsc or any other that will work in windows movie maker. I dont mind spending money but i dont wanna buy it over the internet. If anyone knows of a retail software or just a freeware one that works good i would greatly appreciate it. Who evers suggestion i like best ill give 10 points.

i am using a dvd+r and a panosonic recorder and i hit record for about 15 minutes then i hit stop and it said it finalized the dvd then i took it out and it couldnt detect any files in my laptop…HELP!

but the dvd converters that i have tried to use says its only a free trial so it will only convert like 10min. of a video or it will expire in 5 days.
any one know any good dvd zune converters that is not a free trial and you can have it for free?
